I know sometimes we forget our grammar, but let's take it back to hmm, 5th grade? When to use me and when to use I. It is tremendous how many people I hear misusing such simple words choice. Radio hosts, tv hosts, celebrities, co-workers every other person on Facebook... enough is enough!
I
I is the first person singular subject pronoun, which means that it refers to the person performing the action of a verb.
Me
Me is an object pronoun, which means that it refers to the person that the action of a verb is being done to, or to which a preposition refers.
IN CASE, you are confused still, which it's ok to be as sometimes our tired brains cannot validate the meaning of a noun, pronoun or verb. I will make it simple and give you examples.INCORRECT: My friend and I
CORRECT: Me and my friend
INCORRECT: Between you and I
CORRECT: Between you and me
INCORRECT: Me and you have to go
CORRECT: You and I have to go
Let me break it down. When explaining a certain photo is you and your roomate, let's say. What would you say? The correct answer is, "Me and my roomate." It may sound weird for those of who whom were never corrected or maybe even taught the usage of Me and I. But that is right! If you explained a photo of just you, would you say, "I" ? No, no. You would say, "Me!" That's ME! Not, that's I. Make sense? I really hope so because if I see one more person say "My friend and I" after tagging themselves on Facebook I will literally school you on your walls. Don't make me do it.
Then when I hear, "This is between you and I" AHHHH. Research this if you do not believe me, but people, people, people. It is, "between me and you." Trust me on this. Keep saying it. Repeat it in your heads.
Thank you for your listening skills today. Well done everyone.
Goodnight.
