Rachel Zoe presented her first ever runway show, and lucky you, I was there to witness all the juicy details. A lot of prep went into this show (as any show in NYFW) but for some reason the excitement, wonder, stress, urgency that went into this particular show was different.
Let's visit some of the reasons:
1. Celebrity figure (for those of you in the dark, Rachel Zoe is a MA-JOR stylist to the starts, has her own reality show on Bravo, and a pretty extensive collection of vintage everything)
2. First runway show. Sure RZ has shown at NYFW before but runway is a totally different world.
3. RZ chose NYCs Empire Hotel as the venue for her show. Dodging hotel guests, sneaking up service elevators and taking shortcuts through the kitchen became second nature to us on the production team.
With any celebrity figure, one wonders what this star will be like in "real life". I absolutely experienced some high stress, head spinning moments, but I'm a lady...I never look and tell. What I will and can say, is RZ is true to her style and personality on her hit show The Rachel Zoe Project. Professional, funny, sweet...shall I go on?
As she debated to add or subtract some gems from looks, she spoke out loud, "Too dressy....too casual....not funky enough" as if she was styling one of her A-List clients. It made the feel of backstage lighter and more passionate, and was thrilling to watch.
Check out the backstage pics:

True to RZ style, the entrance to the show was decorated in all white flowers and Diptyque candles. Clean and pristine.
And in case you were wondering, yes, Rodg. was there along with adorable baby Skylar, RZ's parents, sister and niece, brand superstar, Mandana and makeup artist Joey. (Sorry but no I didn't shove my camera in baby Skylar's face like some people backstage did. The kid is a year old. Let's be civil now.)
This was a fab show, and the RZ fam is truly filled with support, courage and damn good style.
